Author Guidelines
The scientific journal "Physical Geography and Geomorphology" is a peer-reviewed open-access publication. The journal publishes original results of theoretical and applied research in the fields of natural sciences and Earth sciences.
1. Ethical Obligations of Authors The Editorial Board adheres to the principles of publication ethics defined by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

Originality: By submitting an article, authors guarantee that the work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration by other publications simultaneously.

Plagiarism: All manuscripts undergo a plagiarism check. Detection of plagiarism is grounds for immediate rejection of the article.

Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could have influenced the research results.
2. Manuscript Formatting Requirements

Language: Ukrainian or English (priority is given to high-quality articles in English).

Technical Parameters:

Format: .doc or .docx.
-
Font: Times New Roman, 14 pt; line spacing – 1.5; all margins – 20 mm.

Length: Original articles – up to 15 pages; review articles – up to 20 pages (including the reference list).

3. Article Structure (according to IMRAD) The article must have a clear structure using numbered headings:

Introduction: Rationale for the problem, analysis of recent research, and formulation of the objective/aim.

Materials and Methods: Detailed description of objects, methodologies, and data used (GIS technologies, field research, etc.).

Results: Presentation of the author's main findings with illustrative material.
-
Discussion: Interpretation of results, comparison with data from other authors, highlighting scientific novelty.

Conclusions: Brief summary of the research.

Acknowledgments: (if necessary) Information regarding grant support or assistance from colleagues.
4. Metadata and Identification The following must be indicated at the beginning of the article:

Title: Concise, informative, without abbreviations.
-
Authors: Full name and surname of each author.
-
ORCID: Mandatory for each co-author (e.g., http://orcid.org/0000-0000-0000-0000).
-
Affiliation: Full official name of the institution, postal address, e-mail (corporate/institutional preferred).

Abstract:
-
Volume: 1,800–2,200 characters.
-
Must be structured (Aim, Methods, Results, Conclusions).
-
Must be self-contained (the reader must understand the essence without reading the full text).

Keywords: 5–7 terms that do not duplicate the article title.
5. Illustrations and Tables
-
Quality: Figures (maps, graphs) must be clear, resolution – at least 300 dpi, format .tiff or .jpg.
-
Language: Captions for tables and figures must be provided in two languages (Ukrainian and English).

Citations: The text must contain references to all tables and figures (e.g., Fig. 1, Table 2).

Scopus Requirements: Avoid overloaded tables. All legends on maps must have an English legend.
6. Reference Formatting (APA Style 7th ed.) The reference list (References) is presented exclusively in Latin script. Key Rules:

Transliteration: Surnames of authors and journal titles (if they do not have an official English title) are transliterated.

Translation: Titles of works are translated into English and placed in square brackets [ ].
-
DOI: It is mandatory to indicate the digital object identifier (DOI) for each source (if available).
-
Original Language: Indicate the language at the end of the source (e.g., In Ukrainian).
Example (Journal Article): Hrodzynskyi, M. D. (2017). Landscape geography: The old name for the new science, or revival of the all-but-forgotten? Ukrainian Geographical Journal, 2, 59–64. https://doi.org/10.15407/ugz2017.02.059 (In Ukrainian).

7. Submission and Review Procedure

Submission: Via the online system on the journal website (http://phgg.knu.ua) or by e-mail: tetiana.lavruk@knu.ua

Peer Review: The Editorial Board uses the Double-Blind Peer Review procedure – the author and reviewer do not know each other's names.

Documents: Along with the article, authors submit a guarantee letter (Conflict of Interest statement & Copyright Transfer). For PhD students – a recommendation from the scientific supervisor.
